My sister and I love this place for happy hour! They have hands down the best strawberry margaritas, gorgeous authentic decor and outdoor seating. This is one of the few mom an pop places in town, although young and trendy, and the owner is usually on hand. I don't like Mexican food so I can't really testify although they have won awards for authentic cuisine. The chips, salsa, queso, gauc and desserts are outta this world. Perfect for after work drinks or a semiromantic night.

Favorite Mexican restaurant by far!! All of their food is absolutely fabulous!! We always have a big group with us when we go and we are always very well served. Their margaritas are the best around the mid GA area!
Two months ago I would have given it five stars, but after last night I being charitable with two. I normally eat there about twice a month and always get a spinach and grilled shrimp salad. Normally excellent, last night the spinach was old, the portion was small, the shrimp weren't grilled like they normally are and the dressing was more like mayonnaise than the sweet onion they normally serve. Different chef?? We mentioned to the manager that the salsa wasn't as flavorful or spicy as normal so he went back to the kitchen and brought a bowl of "special" salsa that was inedible. Wont be going back.

Salsa was good until we found a hair in it. Never coming back here again. The restaurant looked like it was falling apart. Window was cracked and the seat bench we sat at was falling off.

I came here with a co worker who visited this place 2 years ago and wanted to come back for margaritas. Margaritas...you get what you pay for. I should have asked for a ton of ice to dilute some of the sweetness from the mix. We sat outside and it was nice and relaxed with christmas lights. Our server was a little awkward and seemed disappointed we didn't order food. BUT... I'm SOOOOO glad we didn't b/c the churros were awful!!!! The worst I've ever had in my life Hard as a rock. So needless to say when we have to come back down here in 2 years I won't be going back for anything more than happy hour margaritas...IF we decide to come back.

Okay, I'm not sure why this place has such terrible reviews. Maybe because the service is wonky at times, but that's not why you go. Why do you go here, you ask? Because of the PHENOMENAL guacamole and house chicken soup. Oh my gosh, I'm salivating thinking about those two menu items. YUMMM

Yummy!!! I like the newest location by Longhorn better. The food is fresh and delicious. The best salsa and chips in the area! The service is always good, but most times it's excellent. I like everything I've ordered, and as a customer with sever food allergies, I've had more good experiences than bad at Margarita's. We LOVE Mexican food, and this is our favorite! Edited... We love the owner, but this location has gone downhill since it's grand-opening. I recommend the Bass Rd location in Macon. Yes, it's a drive, but yum!!! So worth it!!!

Excellent Mexican cuisine. The nacho burritos are outstanding great flavor .the salsa is delicious. daiquiris are off the charts. and a piña colada is luscious. The service is great. The eye candy and entertainment will keep you wanting more. A must visit for anyone.

Pretty good margaritas. Beef tip burrito is awesome but the beans were lackluster. Nice little piece of Mexico in the heart of Georgia.

It looks like this place got a bad rap for lacking service a year or so back. While there's no excuse for lousy service, I can say that my experience with my spouse on Valentines Day was top notch both in food and service. It's not often that a servers name sticks with me..mostly if they were lousy, but Cynthia was a great server - upbeat, always making sure our food was good, drinks were filled, chips/salsa were brought out, etc. The Daquiry was nice and strong and fajitas came out smoking sizzling so everyone around looks when the food came (love that). My spouses meal looked so good I wanted to eat hers too. Glad we didn't wait an hour or more at other restaurants around WR on V-Day; here we were seated right away. I asked to meet the manager I was so pleased. He was humbly appreciative of my compliments. I've been to the other Margaritas by Academy, and that one is usually great too

Stylish modern decor. Service is lacking. Ten minutes passed at a table of four adults and three kids without receiving menus. Once the jalapeno cheese dip arrived it was another five minutes before drinks were delivered. The food was below average for basic mexican fare. Happy Hour specials were cheap, but no evidence of alcohol in the margarita. Would not return or recommend.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Ordered Margaritas House Special -- probably one of the best Mexican dishes I've ever eaten. Perfectly cooked steak, chicken and shrimp, with a creamy but light cheese sauce and served over Mexican rice. Server was very attentive and prompt. Décor is nothing to write home about, but is more than made up for by the quality and quantity of food. I would return here in a heart beat!
